More often than not, documentary films are used to uncover or explore certain political and social issues and to provide information (sometimes biased, sometimes neutral) to its audiences. Can a film change the perspective or opinions of its audience, or do those who attend such films already hold a similar viewpoint? Can documentaries truly influence the world or are they preaching to the choir?

No longer exclusive to IMAX theaters, the 3-D film has seen increasing popularity with movies such as A Christmas Carol, the record-breaking Avatar, and the upcoming Alice in Wonderland. Seventy years ago, movies shot in color made a significant impact on the film industry and audiences worldwide, establishing new expectations for the faithfulness of movies to the actual world.
