2009 DURANGO INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL

The 2009 Call for Entries is now open!

This is a competitive film festival, and we accept entries for shorts, documentaries, and feature films on all subject matter. We also have family, animated, school, and adventure/sports film programs.

The Durango Independent Film Festival is committed to film literacy and being a welcoming, intimate and unique film organization that screens global, innovative and diverse films that connect independent filmmakers, their artistic process, and their vision to the community.

Submission specifications including screener formats and entry fees are available through Withoutabox.com. For confirmation that your entry was received please send a stamped self-addressed postcard. In order to be considered for selection, all entries must be postmarked no later than November 15, 2008.

Terms and Conditions:
If selected for the Durango Independent Film Festival the entrant is responsible for providing a copy of the film in 35mm or Beta SP-NTSC with a DVD backup for exhibition purposes. DIFF does not accept other formats. We reserve the right to include portions of films submitted to the festival for promotional purposes. Unless otherwise agreed upon, films selected for the festival may be included in future retrospective films of DIFF. A VHS-NTSC or DVD copy of festival selections will be archived in the DIFF film library.

If selected, the exhibition print of the film must be received by the Durango Independent Film Festival by February 8, 2009. The film will be treated with the utmost consideration by competent festival staff; however, the organization cannot be held responsible if the film is lost or damaged during shipping. For this reason, we strongly suggest that participants insure their films. After the festival, films will be returned to their owners, and/or to the address specified by the participant.
