Festival Only Positions

Programming/School Program
School Program: Volunteers needed for each school program to usher students, pass out and collect ballots and pencils, help load in and out signage and ballots.

Ballot Workers: Volunteers needed to help count ballots.

Operations/Venues
Venue Volunteers: Work as the front-line face of the festival. Interact directly with festival goers as they guide people smoothly into and out of festival programs at venues. Venue Volunteers should be organized, friendly, and cool under pressure. During the film programs, Venue Volunteers primarily give information to people who wander into the venues, but between film programs, work gets hectic. Volunteers guide people into correct lines, check passes, punch passes, sell tickets (this involves running a cash register), hand out ballots, check attendance, and provide information about the festival and programs. While Venue Volunteers work during the festival, a pre-festival training session is also required.

Stage Managers:  Adult Stage Managers needed to manage inside theaters of film festival venue. Duties include but are not limited to: communicate with technicians in booths via headsets and radios, working with announcers during Q and A periods after each film, and making sure that everything during shift stays on schedule.

Tech Gophers:  Needed to run errands for the DIFF technical staff members. This position needs to be available throughout the festival.

Passes/Will Call
During the festival volunteers are needed to work the Will Call kiosk.  It is open the week of the festival from Monday through Sunday.   Shifts are generally 3 hours each, a few are 4 hour shifts.  There are 22 separate shifts each requiring 2 volunteers to staff the kiosk.

Merchandising
Volunteers are needed to help sell merchandise during the festival from Wednesday through Sunday. Hours of sales are 8 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Print Collateral & Look Team
