2009 Durango Independent Film Festival Trailer Competition 
 

Deadline: October 20, 2008 

The Durango Independent Film Festival is now accepting submissions for original video or film trailers, 60 seconds or less, to promote its 4th annual festival event which runs Wednesday, March 4 through Sunday, March 8, 2009.  Trailer can be serious, funny, animated, a spoof, etc.  It must be original work and not a promotion for a movie, but rather a short film specifically produced to celebrate the Durango Independent Film Festival. Trailer content must be suitable for general audiences.  This competition is open to anyone.   
 

Winner(s) will receive a Film Guest Pass for the 2009 Durango Independent Film Festival.  The winning entries will premiere at the annual Sponsor Party scheduled for Wednesday, February 25, 2009 and will screen in rotation throughout the 5 day festival.

Copyrighted Images/Subjects & Music Ownership Rights:  You must obtain and provide to the Festival copies of signed release forms for any copyrighted images, materials, or brands.  Likeness release forms are also needed for any recognizable people, whether public or private citizens. Submitting filmmakers must own the rights to any non-original music and proof of the ownership rights must be provided to the Festival at time of submission.  
 

Official Rules and Submission Guidelines:  
 

·         Time limit: 1 minute or less   

·         DVD NTSC 480I or 480P with 3 seconds black on front and recorded at highest recording level   

·         If your trailer is selected, Festival and sponsor logos and/or names will be added to the end of the trailer by the Festival   

·         Completed signed entry form (CLICK HERE FOR ENTRY FORM)

·         DVD marked with filmmaker’s name, address, phone number and email address   

·         Copies of any releases and ownership rights. For samples of release forms click on the NEWS tab/PUBLICITY sub-tab above.   
 

Judging and Notification:  The winner(s) will be chosen by a panel comprised of festival board and staff.  The winner(s) will be notified no later than December 1, 2008.  Selected entries will need to be in compliance with format requirements as directed by the Festival.  
 

Entries not received or postmarked by Monday, October 20, 2008 will be disqualified.
